On June 3, 2022, I married my best friend, Michael, surrounded by our family and friends at a beautiful farm in Peterborough, Ontario. Planning our wedding opened my eyes to just how much I loved bringing all the little details together and creating a day that felt completely like us.
I quickly realized I didn’t want that to be a one-time thing. I wanted to keep creating, organizing, problem-solving, and helping couples experience a wedding day that felt effortless and entirely their own. Later that year, Katie Hawkins Weddings was born, and I’m so lucky to now call this my dream job.

My background in education, marketing, management, and entrepreneurship has shaped the way I work with couples today. I’m naturally organized, detail-oriented, and love being the person who brings clarity to the chaos.
Whether you need a creative sounding board, help making decisions, or someone to take the reins when the wedding day arrives, I’m here to make the process feel more manageable, intentional, and enjoyable.

At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to kindness and respect, treating every person I meet with genuine care. Creating spaces where people feel supported, valued, and at ease is just as important to me as creating something beautiful.
I believe in being honest, communicating openly, and doing what I say I’m going to do. I also believe marriage and family are worth prioritizing, and I want the way I work to reflect those values. Your wedding is about more than one beautiful day. It’s the beginning of something bigger, and I’m honored to help you celebrate it well.

My approach to planning + coordinating weddings is rooted in honesty, intention, clear communication, and a calm, steady presence. I believe the planning process should feel supportive and organized, but also fun. This is a really exciting season of your life, and I don't think it needs to feel overly serious or stressful.
You can expect friendly guidance, honest advice, and confident leadership throughout the process, always delivered with kindness and care. I’ll help you make decisions when you’re unsure, ask the questions that need asking, and step in when something needs to be handled. Most importantly, I want you to feel like you have someone in your corner who you can trust, laugh with, and actually enjoy working with.

A FEW THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME
I’m a firm believer that your wedding should have personality. Give me the weird family tradition, the oddly specific inside joke, or the idea that makes you say, “Is this too much?” I probably want to do it.
I will absolutely notice when the napkins are crooked.
I love a wedding where the dance floor is packed, nobody is checking the time, and the couple gets to actually be present for it.
If it’s colorful and overflowing with flowers, I’m probably obsessed.
Planning my wedding is what made me realize I wanted to do this for a living. So yes, I understand the 11 p.m. Pinterest scroll and the “wait, I just had another idea” moments very well.
