Hannah & Mhar Vic’s Timeless Summer Wedding at Nobleton Lakes Golf Club in Ontario
When Hannah & Mhar Vic first came to me, they envisioned an Italian garden-inspired celebration filled with natural light, beautiful details, and plenty of personality. Over the six months we worked together, that vision naturally evolved into something a little more classic and traditional; and ultimately, much better suited to their already-booked venue at Nobleton Lakes Golf Club in Ontario, Canada.
The result was a beautiful summer wedding in shades of blue and white, with an outdoor ceremony followed by an elegant reception overlooking the golf course. It felt timeless without being overly formal, and most importantly, it felt completely like them.
Designing Around the Venue
One of the things I loved most about working with Hannah was how much she trusted me the aesthetic and the little details. She wanted the day to feel beautiful and thoughtfully designed, but she also wanted their personalities to come through. I could tell she had a direction for her wedding design, but was having trouble polishing that vision.
Rather than forcing the original Italian garden concept into a venue that didn't quite lend itself to that look, we leaned into what Nobleton Lakes did best: tons of natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows, beautiful, open, outdoor surroundings, and a classic reception space. The blue and white palette felt especially fitting for a summer celebration and gave us a timeless foundation to build from.
From the stationery and signage to the tabletop details, everything was designed to feel cohesive without feeling overly matched.
I also designed and printed all of the stationery and signage for the day, which gave us the opportunity to carry the visual language of the wedding throughout everything from the paper goods to the reception details.
Details with Personality
Some of my favorite details were the ones that were both beautiful and personal.
At each place setting, guests received a custom engraved wooden coaster featuring their name. Rather than having a traditional favor that guests might forget to take home, the personalized coasters became part of the tablescape, doubling as placecards while also serving as a meaningful little keepsake from the day.
And then there was the LEGO guest book.
It was playful, unexpected, and such a fun reflection of Hannah & Mhar Vic. I loved that the wedding could feel classic and elegant while still making room for details that were unmistakably them. The LEGO guestbook took several weeks to put together and involved several Etsy orders & lots of organizing tiny pieces into zip-lock bags. It was absolutely a guest favorite!
Making the Most of the Florals
We also worked with the lovely Nymph Floral to design the all of the wedding florals with the rest of the day in mind.
Four large floral arrangements framed the ceremony, and rather than letting them stay behind once the ceremony was over, we moved them to the sweetheart table during cocktail hour. Repurposing the arrangements gave them a second life and allowed us to make the most of the floral investment while creating a beautiful focal point for the reception.
It's one of those small planning decisions that can make a big difference in how a wedding comes together—and it's something I always love looking for when I'm designing a day.
We also alternated table centerpieces with compotes & bud vases to add interest. The beautiful blue & white blooms were the perfect touch, and complimented the patterned blue napkins, floral china chargers, & other elements on the table perfectly. Guests were able to take the blooms home with them at the end of the night; just another way we made this wedding day a little bit more sustainable.
A Little Golf-Course Logistics
One of the trickier parts of the day was coordinating portraits on the golf course. We wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous setting and capture some of that beautiful golden-hour light, but there were also golfers on the course to consider.
With some coordination between the venue team, golfers, and photo/video team, we were able to make it work—and the result was absolutely worth it. Those golden-hour portraits ended up being some of my favorite images from the day.
A Couple Who Made It Easy
Hannah & Mhar Vic were such a joy to work with. They were kind, easy-going, and trusted me with the details, which made the creative process especially enjoyable.
By the time their wedding day arrived, they were completely present and genuinely happy. Hannah looked absolutely beautiful, and Mhar Vic was just as relaxed and excited to celebrate.
And the celebration really was a celebration.
One of my favorite memories from the day was watching their guests take over the dance floor. Everyone was so into it; it was the kind of reception where you can tell people are genuinely having an incredible time. After all the planning, designing, printing, coordinating, and moving pieces around, getting to stand back and watch everyone dance was one of those moments that made it all worth it.
Hannah & Mhar Vic's wedding was a beautiful reminder that the best celebrations don't have to fit perfectly into one particular style. Sometimes the magic comes from taking an initial idea, looking at what the venue and couple naturally lend themselves to, and thoughtfully curating all of those pieces into something that feels effortless, personal, and completely their own.
